Dr Rebecca Bentley is a researcher and lecturer at the Key Centre for Women’s Health, Gender and Society. Her current research focuses on housing and health in Australia.
The Harold Mitchell Health Fellowship gave Rebecca an opportunity to present her research on gender, housing and mental health in Australia at a major international conference in Prague. She also met up with researchers from the University of Sussex and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
“The HMF fellowship has allowed me to cultivate international collaborations in the field of housing and health that have resulted in joint grants and peer-reviewed publications. Further, the HMF fellowship provided me with the opportunity to present my research on housing and health in the Australian context to an international audience, which greatly increased the profile of my research.”
“The contacts I made with European researchers during the HMF fellowship, and the interest this networking generated in Australian research, has resulted in several cross-national research projects which are currently ongoing.”
