Dr Michelle Boyle is as a visiting scientist at the Kenyan Medical Research Institute. She is currently investigating how antibodies to the malaria parasite function to kill the parasite and protect people from disease.
The Harold Mitchell Health Fellowship allowed Michelle to attend a malaria parasite conference in Heidelberg, Germany, which brought together leading malaria specialists from all around the world. She was able to present her own data, learn about current research initiatives from leading world institutes and meet with other malaria researchers from around the globe.
Michelle enjoyed the “opportunity to travel to and present at an international conference. It is very beneficial to meet face to face with leading international researchers so that people get to learn who you are.”
“I would like to thank the funders of this award for the opportunity to travel to Germany and participate in this conference.”
