Dr Lachlan Gray is a specialist in HIV brain infection. The Harold Mitchell Health Fellowship let him travel to a conference in Boston to present on retroviruses and opportunistic infections.
Aside from furthering and establishing research collaborations, the conference gave Lachlan an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in HIV research, including some innovative work involving haemopoietic stem cells.
“The Fellowship allowed me to further my current knowledge in the field, which has assisted me greatly with advancing my own work,” Lachlan says. “The new collaborations formed and existing collaborations that were strengthened by way of my attendance at the conference has ensured that our research remains relevant, up to date, and performed with the latest technologies.”
