There are plenty of top blokes in Woollongong – but soon there’ll be even more. With funding from the Harold Mitchell Foundation, the Top Blokes Foundation will help 75 disadvantaged, unemployed and socially isolated young men become community assets for 18 weeks. They will develop and donate their labour skills in landscape and maintenance projects on not-for-profit building sites.
“By implementing three pillars of programs, youth empowerment, skill-development and resilience programs, the Top Blokes Foundation builds young men’s social inclusion, emotional and social resilience and improve their mental health and wellbeing.”
“Our programs foster an affirmative platform for young males to employ positive decision making skills, become positive role models to their peers and adopt healthier lifestyle choices while developing personal qualities of integrity, character and respect for others.”
